Taxi line in Punavuori. Long line of taxi’s waiting for someone to need a ride. Where the hell are they when I need a ride?

Good example of my lazyness when it comes to scanning pictures. Didn’t bother to blow the film clean and you can see it in the picture. And to re-scan it? No way. Well I think it does bring some old time charm into the picture so it’s not so polished as so many digi pictures are nowadays. And it’s not the noise you are seeing, it’s grain.

Blue sunset at Helsinki.

It seems that I’m making lot of pictures with blue colors in them. Maybe that is just common blue feelings at this time of year.

Now it seems that the previous picture was my last one with my D70. As I have had ideas of a new dSLR body lately I placed the D70 for sale and it got sold suprisingly fast. Now I’m between cameras and I’m still not sure what to get. Trying to cope in digital side with pocket camera which isn’t working for me anymore.

Returning from relatives we made a short stop at Tampere where the harbour had started freeze finally. And at last there was some snow on the ground also. Not yet in Helsinki though.

We are having a grey winter in Finland instead of a white one. This picture was taken at Punkalaidun where there was some snow on the ground few months ago. I think it might have melted already as there wasn’t much to go with.

This is again little bit older picture. Still the darkness is bringing the photographing inspiration down, my Bessa is broken and I don’t feel like shooting with digital cameras. Instead I repaired my Holga and loaded it up with a film.

This time is also a good time to bring up the old GAS problem, new gear is always on my mind. Now I’m think of upgrading my dSLR, Nikon D70, to D200 or even maybe D300. Problem with used D200 is that people still want and pay almost the same as the new one costs. Don’t really understand them. Also same kind of problem with D300, not enough cash loittering around in my pockets.

This an old picture from last fall as I have been sick for few days after couple of weeks hectic work and haven’t found out any time nor interest to grab a camera.

I had a Kiev60 on loan for some test shooting to get the feel for it. I was considering getting one for myself.
Afterwards I thought not to get one, but I’m still little bit hesitant about it.
Well here is two potraits of our boy shoot with it.

Today I managed to capture it as the sun was going down (before 3.00pm).

Cranes against the sky.
There has been big building site at my workplace for almost a year now. Big cranes are lifting stuff up all the time. Good place to stare things for awhile now from time to time.

New year, new blog, new projects.
As the year has changed I also ended my Picture A Day -project. 365 pictures behind, hours of frustration and maybe also few lessons learned.
Now it is time for little bit slower pace and maybe quality over quantity… well let’s see how that goes.
